We are pleased to announce ItemSense 2.0, the latest software release with improved accuracy in detecting items transitioning across a threshold and enhanced communication capabilities.
Impinj ItemSense is a distributed operating system for managing readers and gateways and transforming data into actionable business intelligence.
It’s designed to bring flexibility and speed to enterprise-class RAIN deployments built on the Impinj platform. And, it provides powerful capabilities for taking inventory, determining the location of tagged items and their direction of movement across a threshold.
New in this release:
Improved accuracy in transition detection
At Impinj, we take the performance of our products very seriously. In our Impinj ItemSense 2.0 release, we have improved the ability to detect items transitioning across a threshold, a common capability used in shipment verification use cases. You’ll see improvements in identifying tag direction and lane detection that will predict the expected read accuracy and performance of your solutions. In addition, we’ve simplified the way threshold transitions are tuned so that setting up RAIN connectivity devices across unique locations is faster and easier.
Enhanced communication capabilities
This new release features the addition of two standard communication protocols: native Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) support and user-defined HTTP callbacks, called webhooks. This brings additional flexibility for developers to subscribe to event data, both from tag reads and system health notifications, using a format standard for their deployments.
